Closure
A poem.

The last curtain has not closed.
For whatever reason, the final act is not over.
The actors wait,
makeup stale,
emotions stretched.
Even they are unsure of how to feel.
They said good-bye two scenes ago,
supposedly to never see one another again.
That’s what happens in a break-up,
but why was the curtain not closed?
