Darwin’s Law
A poem.
Jan 3, 2021
Hiding among the grass,
praying he wouldn’t notice.
Trying to control her breathing,
knowing it was pointless.
Worlds would collide,
only a matter of time.
Gun felt heavy in hand,
committed to the crime.
Natural red trail
guiding predator to prey.
An escape failure.
Who would walk away?
